Six Sigma
Six Sigma is a rigorous, disciplined methodology to measure and improve operational performance, practices and systems. Six Sigma identifies and prevents defects in manufacturing and service-related processes. In many organizations, it simply means a measure of quality that strives for near perfection. Six Sigma is an enabler. It improves current process and improves the reliability and repeatability of current process.
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a tool applied to the development of new process or new structures. DFSS is a multiplier that converts customer future expectations and needs to technical requirements and converts technical requirements to specifications. DFSS balances assumptions with reality over time.
